Volunteer Manager (Full Time)
General Description:
The Volunteer Manager is responsible for the supervision of volunteer advocates. This includes the coordination of volunteer activities; all aspects of case management; and assisting in recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Case Management
- Supervision of volunteer advocates
- Develop working relationships with volunteers
- Build individual rapport with each advocate and support him/her in a personalized manner
- Assist in advocacy of each volunteer through support/coaching and accountability
- Communicate regularly with each volunteer
- Regular phone and in-person contact
- E-mail contact
- Review and edit advocate court reports
- Maintain program’s high standard of content and grammar
- Ensure report submission a minimum of 2 business days prior to hearing
- Attend dependency court hearings
- Represent program in professional manner
- Participate in court hearings if necessary
- Begin to build working knowledge of issues and dynamics within families in crisis related to child abuse/neglect
- Begin to build a working knowledge of resources available within the community to assist families
- Maintain case and volunteer records
- Document record changes/updates in a timely and accurate manner
Recruitment of potential volunteer advocates
- Assist in volunteer interviews
- Assist in community events as needed/requested
Training
- Assist in facilitation of NCASA/GAL training curriculum
- Participate in-service trainings
Education/Experience:
The successful candidate will possess strong time management skills, the ability to multi-task, experience working with or overseeing volunteers, strong leadership skills, and good written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in child welfare a plus.
Base salary range: $40,875.80 - $46,200*
*Using Volunteer Coordinator Position: 29001 and Entry Level Case Manager Position: 24000, median salary based on budget size and field of work average ($42,000) with range
